About Frannie Kronenberg

Frannie Kronenberg is a contemporary abstract mixed media artist based in Somerville, Massachusetts, who embarked on this passion in mid-life. She has had a successful and gratifying career as a primary care physician and health care leader in Boston and New Orleans for over 30 years. She studied Art History at Brown University, which whet her appetite for art and for many years, she carried within her an affinity for color and abstract art.

During a break in her professional career, she began her exploration as an artist by studying color theory and abstract painting at the New Orleans Academy of Art. That experience inspired her to begin painting in earnest; she has been developing her skills by taking classes and workshops over the years both online and across the country ever since.

Her nonobjective paintings are colorful, dynamic, and uplifting! She uses acrylic paint, and drawing mediums such as graphite, watercolor crayons, and oil pastels on large-format canvases.

Kronenberg’s work has been exhibited in art shows in New Orleans and throughout Massachusetts, and acquired by numerous collectors across the country. Some of her smaller paintings can be viewed at Ariodante Contemporary Art and Craft Gallery in New Orleans.
